French PM Edouard Philippe Resigned, president  Macron  named centre-right  Jean Castex as new PM


Édouard Philippe has been replaced as prime minister  by President Emmanuel Macron

Macron named Jean Castex, 55, a career civil servant

Édouard Charles Philippe is a French politician who served as Prime Minister of France from 15 May 2017 to 3 July 2020 under President Emmanuel Macron.

Jean Castex is a French politician who has been serving as Prime Minister of France since 3 July 2020.

Prior to his appointment, he was a high-ranking civil servant tasked with coordinating the easing of France's COVID-19 lockdown.
