Sumatran rhinoceros are extinct in Malaysia

The Sumatran rhinoceros is now extinct in Malaysia. The country’s last rhino, Iman, died of cancer on Saturday

 Tam, Malaysia’s last male rhino, died in May.

The species is down to about 80 individuals, all living in Indonesia.

The Sumatran rhinoceros, also known as Asian two-horned rhinoceros, is a rare member of the family Rhinocerotidae and one of five extant species of rhinoceros.
