Gotabaya Rajapaksa won Sri Lanka Presidential election

Sri Lanka's former Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa has won the Presidential election.

He is the brother of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa. Gotabaya got 52.25 per cent of the total valid votes.

Gotabaya will be sworn in as the new President tomorrow

Lieutenant Colonel Nandasena Gotabaya Rajapaksa, RWP, RSP, psc, GR is a Sri Lankan politician, technocrat, military officer, and the President-elect of Sri Lanka, having gained a majority in the 2019 Presidential election, which he contested from the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna, which is lead by his brother, former President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
