NASA is set to launch the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS)

TESS will analyse relatively nearby stars for planets orbiting the stars.

TESS will be launched aboard a SpaceX’s Flacon 9 rocket from Florida, US.

scientists expect to find about 50 Earth-sized planets and about 20,000 exoplanets in total, of which the vast majority will probably be larger than Neptune

Neptune is  our solar system's fourth biggest planet

Exoplanets are planets that orbit a star other than the sun.

The satellite, cost about $200m,

it will build on work done by the Kepler telescope, which was able to catalogue about 2,300 exoplanets to date.
