This was the second meeting of the Contact Group following the expansion of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) in June 2017 with India becoming its full member.

The Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) is a Eurasian political, economic, and security organisation, the creation of which was announced on 15 June 2001 in Shanghai, China by the leaders of China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan; the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Charter was signed in June 2002 and entered into force on 19 September 2003

These countries, except for Uzbekistan, had been members of the Shanghai Five group, founded on 26 April 1996 in Shanghai.

The tournament will be hosted by Bangkok, Thailand.

The matches will be played at IMPACT Arena. It will be the first time that Thailand has hosted the tournament and the first time this event has been held in Southeast Asia since 2010 in Malaysia.

Denmark are the defending men's champions, and China are the defending women's champions.

the world's first long-distance electric bus line was inaugurated in Paris

German low-cost company FlixBus presented its green bus at the foot of the Eiffel tower and will begin daily service on April 12.

 The service will link the French capital to the northern city of Amiens, a 160 kilometres journey which will take a little over two hours.

The bus, which seats 49, has all the advantages of an electric vehicle: zero emissions, quiet, and drives more smoothly than its fuel-powered counterpart.

With a maximum range of 250 kilometres (155 miles), the batteries can be fully charged in 5 hours

  batteries can be fully charged in 2 hours  with the use of a "super-charger".
