The 2020 Turkish Grand Prix   was a motor race for Formula One cars which took place on 15 November 2020 at Istanbul Park in Tuzla, Turkey.

The race was the 14th round of the 2020 Formula One World Championship and the eighth running of the Turkish Grand Prix since the event was first held in 2005.

The race was won by Lewis Hamilton ahead of Sergio Pérez and Sebastian Vettel.

With this win Hamilton claimed his seventh World Championship title, equalling the record set by Michael Schumacher.

Hamilton's title also marked the seventh consecutive time a Mercedes driver had won the World Drivers' Championship.

Democrat Joe Biden beat Republican Donald Trump to become the 46th President of the United States.

Biden clinched the race by securing 279 electoral votes.

The winning moment was decided when the Democrats made a lead in the state of Pennsylvania sealing their victory

With the declaration of Joe Biden as the President-Elect based on the projections of the electoral votes, Democratic Party candidate Kamala Harris has also secured her position as the first woman to be the Vice President of the USA.

Ms. Harris, is also credited to be the first woman of Indian-American and African-American origin to be a member of the United States Senate.

Shekhar Kapur is an Indian film director, actor, and producer, known for his works in Hindi cinema and international cinema.

The Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) is an autonomous institute under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting of the Government of India and aided by the Central Government of India.

It is situated on the premises of the erstwhile Prabhat Film Company in Pune.

Since its beginning in 1960, FTII has become India's premier film and television institute, with its alumni becoming technicians, actors and directors in the film and television industry.

His name was selected for the prize by an international jury chaired by former president Pranab Mukherjee

Sir David Frederick Attenborough  is an English broadcaster and natural historian.

Sir David’s work has received widespread recognition across the world. Apart from his knighthood, he has received awards from the Royal Geographical Society, UNESCO’s Kalinga Prize, the Micheal Faraday Prize, the Descartes Prize and Fellowship of the Royal Society, and several Emmy and BAFTA awards.

He is best known for writing and presenting, in conjunction with the BBC Natural History Unit, the nine natural history documentary series forming the Life collection that together constitute a comprehensive survey of animal and plant life on Earth

The Indira Gandhi Prize or the Indira Gandhi Peace Prize or the Indira Gandhi Prize for Peace, Disarmament and Development is the prestigious award accorded annually by Indira Gandhi Memorial Trust  to individuals or organisations in recognition of creative efforts toward promoting international peace, development and a new international economic order; ensuring that scientific discoveries are used for the larger good of humanity, and enlarging the scope of freedom.

The prize carries a cash award of 2.5 million Indian rupees and a citation.

Dutch author Marieke Lucas Rijneveld on Wednesday won the 2020 International Booker prize for debut novel The Discomfort of Evening, a story of childhood grief.

At 29, Rijneveld is the youngest author to win the prestigious prize.

Rijneveld shares the prize of 50,000 pounds, about $66,000, with Michele Hutchison, who translated it from Dutch

The International Booker Prize is an international literary award hosted in the United Kingdom. The introduction of the International Prize to complement the Man Booker Prize was announced in June 2004.

Somalia's Deputy Prime Minister Mahdi Mohammed Gulaid has announced his appointment as the interim prime minister following the vote of no confidence against the previous head of government, Hassan Ali Khaire.

Earlier, the country's parliament ousted Khaire by a vote of no confidence.

Mahdi Mohammed Gulaid  is the Acting Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia and the former Deputy Prime Minister from 21st of March, 2017 to the 25th of July 2020.

Marianna Vardinoyannis, Morissana Kouyate announced laureates of UN Nelson Mandela prize

Marianna Vardinoyannis of Greece and Morissana Kouyate of Guinea were announced the laureates of the United Nations 2020 Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela Prize by General Assembly President Tijjani Muhammad-Bande, Xinhua reported.

Vardinoyannis is a Greek philanthropist and world advocate for human rights and the protection of children's health and welfare.

 The prize was established in 2014 by the General Assembly to recognise the achievements of those who dedicate their lives to the service of humanity by promoting the purposes and principles of the United Nations while honouring and paying homage to Nelson Mandela's extraordinary life and legacy of reconciliation, political transition, and social transformation.

The prize is awarded every five years.
It was first awarded in 2015.

The laureates will be recognised at the General Assembly's annual commemoration of Nelson Mandela International Day, which,is being marked virtually on July 20.

 An in-person award ceremony will take place on a later date at UN Headquarters in New York
