 mascots, which are yet to be named, were chosen by children from over 16,000 elementary schools across Japan and its international schools

this was announced    at the Kakezuka school in Tokyo.

. Name for the mascots will be decided by the selection panel and a formal launch will be performed in July or August 2018

The 2020 Summer Olympics, will be a major international multi-sport event due to be celebrated in the tradition of the Olympic Games as governed by the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

They will be the second Summer Games held in Tokyo, and the fourth overall Olympic Games held in Japan.

The games are planned to be held from 24 July to 9 August 2020 in Tokyo. The city was announced as the host at the 125th IOC Session in Buenos Aires on 7 September 2013.

Having previously hosted the 1964 Summer Olympics, Tokyo will become the first city in Asia to host the Olympics twice. It will mark the fourth time Japan has hosted the Games, after Tokyo 1964 (Summer), Sapporo 1972 (Winter), and Nagano 1998 (Winter).
