The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is the supreme investigating police agency in India,

It is under the jurisdiction of the Government of India.

he CBI was established in 1941 as the Special Police Establishment,for  domestic security.

It was renamed the Central Bureau of Investigation on 1 April 1963.

Its motto is "Industry, Impartiality, Integrity".

Its  headquarters is in the Indian capital, New Delhi

Dharamnath Prasad Kohli was the founder Director of the CBI, India's Central Investigation Agency.

 He held office from 1 April 1963 to 31 May 1968. Before this, he was Inspector-General of Police of the Special Police Establishment from 1955 to 1963

Kohli was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 1967
